Post 32 Service Officer Report 110625
by Ralph Bozella
The Post 32 Veterans Stand Down and Resource Fair, held on October 30, 2025, at Post 32 was a success with nearly 50 veterans and family members registered. Forty vendors offering services and information, supplies, store gift cards, clothing, haircuts, clinical help, accredited service officer help, and great food was offered throughout the day for all who attended. Channel 9 News conducted two live interviews which were broadcast that day.

We are grateful for the Post 32 Stand Down Committee chaired by former Boulder County Service Officer Karen Thompson for its work in planning and implementing the annual event. The committee is comprised of ALA Unit 32 Past President Susie Bozella, District 4 Commander Steve Butner, VFW Post 2601 Quartermaster Jenny Santucci, Veterans Community Project Director Shanna Freeman, A Way Forward Director Larry Rand, Boulder County Veteran Services supervisors Ashley Reese and Lindsay Neville, Work Force Director Dan Savage, Post 32 Adjutant Pat Lennon and Post 32 Service Officer Ralph Bozella. Post 32 Trustee Doug Risedorf is appreciated for his work helping to set up tables and organize boxes of supplies. The Committee will conduct an after-action debriefing next week to evaluate the program and set the tone for 2026.

We are also grateful for financial support with personal donations from some of our members and significant donations from Skyline Kiwanis, Daughters of The American Revolution Longs Peak Chapter, and ALA Unit 119 from Estes Park. Food was provided free of charge by Georgia Boys BBQ, and at a meaningful reduced cost by Las Palmares, Jersey Mikes Subs, and Landline Doughnuts. Please visit these great restaurants and thank them for supporting veterans.
The annual Veterans Stand Down and Resource Fair is an excellent example of how Post 32 works to support veterans and families in our communities. We will continue to assist veterans throughout the year as our funding permits by providing emergency housing, store gift cards, clothing and more. We refer to the Our Center for food bank assistance. Anyone can donate to our Veterans Transit Fund by calling 303-776-2034. One hundred percent of funds donated to this fund go to serving veterans. There are no administrative costs, and all funds are accounted for through Post 32 finance officer and accounting firm.
